- Allow Required Time for Utility Markings
- Respect the Marks
- Excavate Carefully
If you suspect any upcoming projects may be near a polling site, we recommend scheduling any tickets after the election and avoiding scheduling them for the day before or on Election Day. You can do so by utilizing Virginia 811’s scheduling options.
Scheduling tickets allows excavations to be scheduled up to 12 working days in advance, offering greater flexibility for marking work dates. Once scheduled, excavation tickets will remain open for 15 working days after the specified start date.
