Setup & Timing

The display truck requires minimal setup (typically under 15 minutes) and is fully self-powered. Most stops are scheduled for 1–2 hours to maximize visibility, depending on event details and the truck’s daily schedule. If you’re requesting support for a multi-day event or have specific timing needs, please include that information in the Display Truck Request Form.

Display Truck Participation & Scheduling Expectations

Virginia 811’s display truck is a shared, statewide resource offered at no cost to our Members and community partners. While we do our best to accommodate as many requests as possible throughout the year, availability is limited.

Please note:

We operate with one display truck and one dedicated driver serving events across the Commonwealth.

Submitting a request does not guarantee availability, date approval, or full-duration multi-day attendance (in some cases, partial attendance may be the only option).

Our calendar fills quickly—especially during the spring and summer months—and priority is determined by timing, location, duration, and overall availability.

Availability may change due to weather, travel constraints, equipment issues, or unforeseen circumstances.

While we understand the interest in previewing presentations, display content is typically not shared in advance due to timing and finalization constraints.

We appreciate your understanding and flexibility as we work to support as many events as possible.
