Effective early January, 2018 (exact date to be announced), VA811 will be making a change to the Positive Response System per the SCC Damage Prevention Advisory Committee. Positive Response codes 60, 90, 91, 93, and 94 will now require the completion of a new field, the Issues field. This field will be used by locators to provide an explanation of why they used the particular code.
- Locator selects code 90
- Locator completes Excavator Rep field – “Joe Excavator 540-5551212″
- Locator completes new Issue field with reason for using code 90 – “Gate is locked with padlock, no way to gain access”
The Newtin Positive Response program will be modified to comply with this change.
VA811 has been working with ticket management system software providers to make sure that they can comply with this request.
